As I sit here and look at the different photos everyday I am reminded of each and every memory they hold. Sometimes life is not easy, it can be stressful, but we make the best of it! We do funny things, we enjoy the moments, and we are together.
Wow already it is nearing the end of February and that means only a few things....We should have snow and we don't, we are probably going to get hit with a snow storm, and Hockey season is ending. Now this makes me think about the free time that we might start to have, but also that summer is ahead. We are pretty sad that hockey is ending because that means knee hockey will be in full force at our house, but also because we enjoy hockey. Now I will be happy to have a little more time on the weekends, but to any mom who has kids who play knee hockey you know my pain right now....So I look to the summer.
This brings me to childhood memories....I am going to list my favorite 4 because otherwise I could be here all night.
1. Family time. Growing up my grandparents lived on the lake and that meant swimming, fishing, tubing, hanging with grandma and grandpa and most importantly it meant family time. Things seemed so easy back then because family meant everything. It gave me some great memories but also it gave me the value of family. Never once did we starve, never once were we bored, and never once did I have white legs.
2. Lake life...Kind of goes hand and hand with family at the lake but seriously lake life! I have some of my favorite memories with my best friend at the lake. Pack a lunch, grab our fishing poles, a cooler with pop or flavored water, some snacks, a towel for taking the fish off, and we hit the canoe. It was killer when we had a radio with us. To think back now we never had a phone, we had a walkie talkie and if someone wanted us they knew where to find us. We were fishing, getting a tan and making the best out of the summer.
3. Vacations....one of my favorite vacations was when my grandparents took my brother and I to Duluth. Little did I know that grandpa would drive down the wrong way on a one way. And then 10 years later I moved to Duluth and drove down that same one way.
4. Cruising in the Delta 88.....I won't lie I did some stupid things in my first car, but man did I have fun. Hitting a mail box because I kept slamming on the breaks, or trying to get my car to go as fast as I could over the speed bumps, to getting pulled over in the used car lot because I was out after curfew. I honestly was looking for a car because I kept hitting the speed bumps and the car wasn't going to last much longer.
So as we finish up Hockey I hope my boys have made some awesome memories and ready for the next adventure ahead....spring, mud, and sunshine.
The year always seems to pass so quickly, but it is all because we are making the memories, sharing the fun, and living life to the fullest. So I leave you with some 365 photos!
Wow, not sure where to go with this. I have a hard time with age, and if I look at 10 years from now my oldest will be turning 20, my youngest turning 14. So....with that said what does 10 years from now look like? I have no clue.
My oldest has a thing for colleges and at the age of 9.5 I remind him that things will change. But to think about 10 years and my baby being gone at college and my youngest a teenager just reminds me everyday why I need to cherish the days, to live in the moment and to make some awesome memories.
I have always said that my youngest is going to be the trouble maker, just kidding who am I kidding he is the trouble maker. So hopefully he will have listened and not made poor choices.
As for me 10 years from now I hope to finally get back to scrapbooking even if it is digital scrapbooking. I absolutely love my day job so I will still be there, and I love my side gig so that will continue as well. I am not one to sit still, I am always trying to learn new things. I hope that in 10 years I have been to a couple of my 5 dream locations or have at least made it back to Norway with my camera. Even if its just me and the Canon, I will get back there.
As for the next 10 years I will continue to shoot my 365 each year because its all about the amazing memories I am making, the memories that are saved so that in 10 years I can look back and say ok, the fighting between the kids wasn't really all that bad (haha).
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?!?!?!?!
This is a hard one for me because I seriously love the holidays, the memories, the food, the company, and activities. If I had to choose one I would probably say Christmas. But the Fourth of July is a very very close second.
Why the Fourth of July?!?
Well my my grandparents lived on a lake growing up and we were at the lake day after day and the Fourth was always a great time with so many people, so much food and we swam, fished, and tubed till our hearts content. I love having the get togethers, the friends and family, and well I love new foods, favorite foods and parades. Letting my boys experience the culture that we have with Holidays makes my heart happy.
Well its my my favorite because of the traditions, the board games, the food, the togetherness, and the reason for the season! My small family still gets together and I have always dreamed of a big family. When my husbands family gets together on his moms side, I love to see everyone celebrating and enjoying the company. I am also a big Brady bunch fan, so I always loved the very Brady Christmas. I dream that someday my children will bring heir spouses and kids home and sleepover for Christmas.. Christmas movies just another reason I love Christmas.
I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, auntie, god-mother, friend, Christian, donkey loving, Director of Finance and HR, and photographer with a love for my clients and my camera!
