Friday afternoon session proved to be awesome for Oliver and is parents. He holds a special place in my heart and I love that I am given the opportunity to capture some great family photos! Not only was he super interested in everything that was going on, he gave such great expressions the entire session.
Such a busy boy, rolling over and exploring the world
Even got dad to smile for photos!
Just look at those toes
When your a mom of boys, you don't get to see those cute headbands, tutu's, or cute little sandals. Mya was so cooperative when it came to her photos. Towards the end she was getting a little tired and she should have considering how well she did. Love getting the chance to see the tutu and headbands, along with the great conversations with her mommy. Can't wait to get the family photo scheduled when dad is available
I usually have a few favorites from a session, but today this one tops all from the day. Its my favorite!!!
I am often reminded that its important to have photos of everyone. The one person that never gets in the photo is the person taking the photograph. Well that's 99% of the time me. I have been trying so hard even it if is just a selfie of myself and the kids, the hubs, the animals, or even just me. Sometimes it takes a lot of strategic planning, but hey I make it work.
Yeah I didn't say they were always the most flattering, or fabulousoso photos, but they are photos!
Today along with a friend, we were able to get some great headshots for each of our businesses. Now it screamed great opportunity to make sure I was in a few photos that were fabulous photos and not just crazy selfies!

A memory we are told is something that is remembered from the past; a recollection. While mowing lawn this past weekend, I had a few memories come back and my brain remembered them because of something I had seen, felt, heard, and smelled as well as what I was doing.
It was kind of funny that mowing lawn could do this for me, but while mowing lawn I remembered people that are very important to me.
What did I see? Well after being on vacation and having a week of catch up to do, our lawn didn't get the attention that it really needed so there were clumps of grass and the lawn really needed the attention. And driving the lawn mower I remembered my maternal grandfather. He loved his riding lawn mower and loved that he was able to mow lawn even with his poor health. I had the memory so clear in my mind because it was a past time he had loved.
What did I feel? I felt the sunburn setting in and whenever I have a sunburn I am reminded of my best friend in heaven. Now not only do I think about her often, but when ever I get a sunburn I am reminded of the days when we had no time for sunscreen because the fish were biting and we had to paddle our canoe over to catch some fish. Fisherwomen we were!
What did I hear? Johnny Cash-Daddy sang bass. Now Johnny Cash and Polka bring me back to my grandfather on my dads side all the time. Heck yah I sang loud and proud while driving the lawn mower.
What did I smell? Cut grass and the smell of cut grass brings me to my grandmother who's birthday would have been today! She hated that smell of grass and would get so sick. Why it reminds me of her I am not sure, but I was reminded of how she would have rollers in her hair a towel over her nose so she couldn't smell the grass.
Now I have these memories and so many photos that I am brought to the title how do we preserve it?
Simple....A photograph. But the most important part of a photograph is to have it printed. There are so many times when photos stay on my computer and never leave and will never be seen. But why? Is it because we live in such a digital world? So my advice is to start getting those prints ordered, and make sure you hang them and be proud of those people and places you love! They wont be around forever.
I was talked into the 365 photo challenge and surprisingly enough....I am on day 222. That's right I am 60% done with what is going to be a spectacular book telling so many stories of 2015! I just had to share because the photo for day 222 well its actually 2 photos because I just couldn't decide :)
