Blog Challenge---Updated

Well I always say I am going to do something, and then there are those weeks when my little humans need me, or when my husband is traveling for work, and then I slide on my personal goals. But that doesn't mean I stop, I just need time to get things posted. So today you will get weeks 17-21. Yes I know sad, but like I said those little humans come first.

Week 17 -- My biggest Fears

Well this one is something that I never thought it was an issue, I call myself pretty independent, but really I am not. My biggest fear is having to parent alone. My husband travels for work, and I always fear the worst, I worry like no other when he is traveling because I fear the worst and I know that I need him as my team mate, my partner, and as my parenting partner. We are a team and without him I would fail. Now I know things happen, God is the one in control but I still worry because I can.

Week 18 --My embarrassing stories

Oh where to start? They all seam to roll into stories, and I honestly couldn't for the life of me think of an embarrassing story. I know I do dumb things, I know I don't think, but maybe I can't think of one because they all roll together.

Week 19 -- My OCD habits

My OCD habits come out like no other after I have been stressed out, or when things are not going like plan. I have a plan, and I have to follow it. I have things completely color coded when it comes to our calendars. One big habit is that all the plastic containers in the kitchen have to be in the right spot. They can't stack, they have their own piles. Another OCD habit is the kitchen counter. I can not have crumbs on the counter it sends me into next week for sure. But if you look at my car the dust is horrible, the gravel inside is gross, and the van needs to be washed at all times. But those things don't bother me.

Week 20 -- My favorite movies

Disney all the way! I am by far a Disney addict. Little Mermaid is my fav for sure. Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, or Toy story are not far behind.

When it comes to non cartoons, I love Sweet Home Alabama -just love a good love story! Longest Ride was another good movie. I am a chick flick junkie, but I have to be in the mood because otherwise I fall asleep.

Week 21 --If I could eat ONE last meal.

Oh man.....I would probably say Plaza in Madelia MN. Chicken Chimichanga is my favorite there! Beans and Rice on the side with some quad and sour cream. MMMM

Biggest Fashion Accessory must have....

Well I am not the girl that needs to have her fashion accessory. I seriously do not have a must have other than my wedding ring. I have a few other rings that are super important to me like my hockey stick ring, my grandfathers wedding band, and my emerald ring. Other than that it depends on the day. I have a necklace that my husband gave me that has my kiddos birthstones. Other than that there are some things that get added depending on the day. I am just a plain jane kinda girl and I like it that way!

How do I manage my time?

Lists, Lists, and more Lists!

I am a firm believer in a list, a checklist, and a routine. I don't stray very far with my normal routines, and sometimes the routines are solely based on my children. If its summer routine is much different then our weekly routine during hockey season.

But with that being said, I try to make sure that my kids are always number one along with my hubby. Weekly we don't do a ton, because with homework, supper, baths its then bedtime. And that means my bed time too. I need sleep or I become cranky.

I am always looking for a new routine enhancer or a change that will make the process that much better. One of my favorites is online grocery shopping now. I just need to get it on a different day so that my routine works even better. I meal plan, the order, then meal prep on Sundays, but right now it seems like when I want to order and pick up its just not the same schedule with Hy-Vee. So I need to perfect that.

My phone is also my main squeeze when it comes to organization and time management. I have my calendar, email, and anything else I may need at my fingertips. Its perfect!

How do you manage your time?!?!?

My Favorite Book

Oh where do I even start. I am not sure that I can pick just one book. Currently I can tell you I have a favorite author that needs to hurry up and write some new books..hehe.  Colleen Hoover was recommended to me by another photographer, mom, and super awesome hockey mom. Well I have gotten through all of her books, and I would have to say she is awesome! The last book of hers that I read was November 9. Amazing book, with such a great story. So many emotions in just one book.

I am by far a love story girl and I need a book that can hook, line, and sink right away. But once I have been sunk I have a hard time putting the book down.

But like all good books that come to an end, I am not on a book hangover and I can't commit to another just yet.

My Favorite Month

This is difficult question....I have so many months that I love for so many different reasons. I love December for Christmas and the time with family, but I love November because its my month. I would have to say my favorite month is May. Its garden planting time, I married my best friend who I get to annoy for the rest of his life in may, and well its generally when school is out and we get to write our summer bucket list. Every month has amazing things to love, and every month has something that I dread so really I am not sure the May is my favorite :) I like all 12!

I am a country girl my heart. My hubby changes the station right when he gets into my van so when its me all alone its country all the time!

My all time favorites are Reba and George Strait.

Currently a coulpe of my favorite songs that are on constant replay include the following:
- Eric Church - Kill A Word { it just reminds me so much about how growing up right now can be so difficult and sometimes its all because of a word }
- Reba -  Back to God { This just reminds me that we need to remember who is always there for us }
- Brothers Osborne - It Ain't my Fault { The beat is just great |
- Brett Eldredge - Somthin' Im good at { Another beat that is great }
- Dylan Scott - My Girl { Reminds me of me and my hubby }

Blog Challenge : If I won a million dollars

If I had a million dollars I would buy you a house...oh wait we aren't talking about the Barenaked Ladies song but if I won a million dollars.. Oh what would I do?!? I am not 100% sure.

First I know that a million dollars will go very fast because shopping would be fun. I would start by paying off my house and adding on to it. I don't want to add on a ton, but I would like to add a few bedrooms and a front porch. I would have to figure out if I could put up a horse barn because I have always told my hubby if we win the lottery I am getting horses. I would then make sure my van was paid off and buy a truck and an SUV. I would make a donation to school because we love our school and our school does so much for the community. Then a family vacation which wouldn't have to be something massive but a family getaway. And last I would put money towards adoption. I have always wanted 4 kids, and the big guy upstairs has had different plans for me. Oh and we can't forget I would have to buy some glass because not getting a new lens after winning a million dollars would be silly.

What would you do with a million dollars?

Blog Challenge : My Biggest Pet Peeves....

Well I am kind of OCD about my kitchen. So its all about my kitchen being clean. The counter has to be wiped off, neat, and not cluttered. Its crazy because I can get so upset over the kitchen yet my van is a never ending disaster because my children never take their stuff out of the van.

I also hate when someone is doing something repeatedly like clicking a pen, or tapping on the table. At times I try to tone it out, but man if someone catches me on the wrong day it sends my head spinning.

People that don't know how to walk in the store. You walk the isle just like you drive a car. Not too difficult.

I also hate when people try to carry a conversation about what I am purchasing at like the grocery store. Yes these are meals I am going to make, no you don't need to judge my meal options, and please don't tell me I have nice jugs when walking out with 4 gallons of milk. ( This has happened to me twice).

Blog Challenge : An Unforgettable day in my life

3/5/2017

Well there are so many days that I classify as unforgettable. Some of those days are happy, and then there are some that are sad. Which day do I pick and how do I choose? Well I am going to go with and unforgettable period of time only because I don't remember the details all that well.

So I go back to 2012.....It was the summer my hubby was gone on a work trip to Canada, I had recently snagged a new job and was going to be starting soon. I went out for supper with some relatives and one comment was made asking when we are going to make Carter a big brother. Well that was the issue the pipes didn't seem to work, but how do you tell people you are trying your hardest and its not easy? You don't you just shrug it off and hope that people never ask again, or you turn the conversation into a different topic. That was just what I did and told everyone how excited I was to start my new job and yet sad to leave my old job. I loved my job but I really wanted something in the accounting field since I had my BA Degree. We ended the night stuffed and ready to go home. So Carter and I went home the hubs was coming home the next day and we were super excited to see him. I felt like crap the next day and I was pretty nervous that I was getting sick because I couldn't get sick I started the new job in just 2 days. Tired oh was I tired, but why.....Well lone behold I didn't realize with the job change, the hubbies trip, moving mom into her new house that wow I was late. How could this be? Well it was true, but how....and now how do I keep a secret because I want to make sure I keep this one and not tell everyone only to have to say I had a miscarriage again. So we told our moms because our dads couldn't keep their mouths shut. And then we waited and waited and waited until I hit 12 weeks. Well 12 weeks was right at Carters birthday party. So he got a t-shirt. A t-shirt the poor kid was pissed, but we said lets put it on and well everyone had a hard time reading it but they finally got it! Yup he's going to be a big brother. So after trying so much, and finally giving up on getting prego the month before we finally got what we wanted. But how on earth do I tell my new employer that hey yeah I know i just stated but I am prego. Lone behold one of the best HR ladies ever, I told her that I was pregnant. She was worried I was going to quit but I was just worried I was going to qualify for Short term disability. And now we have a very healthy happy 4 year old and I couldn't imagine life without him. There are days Carter feels like Miles is a pain, but then there are days he actually likes his brother.

Favorite childhood memories...

2/21/2017

Wow already it is nearing the end of February and that means only a few things....We should have snow and we don't, we are probably going to get hit with a snow storm, and Hockey season is ending. Now this makes me think about the free time that we might start to have, but also that summer is ahead. We are pretty sad that hockey is ending because that means knee hockey will be in full force at our house, but also because we enjoy hockey. Now I will be happy to have a little more time on the weekends, but to any mom who has kids who play knee hockey you know my pain right now....So I look to the summer.

This brings me to childhood memories....I am going to list my favorite 4 because otherwise I could be here all night.

1. Family time. Growing up my grandparents lived on the lake and that meant swimming, fishing, tubing, hanging with grandma and grandpa and most importantly it meant family time. Things seemed so easy back then because family meant everything. It gave me some great memories but also it gave me the value of family. Never once did we starve, never once were we bored, and never once did I have white legs.

2. Lake life...Kind of goes hand and hand with family at the lake but seriously lake life! I have some of my favorite memories with my best friend at the lake. Pack a lunch, grab our fishing poles, a cooler with pop or flavored water, some snacks, a towel for taking the fish off, and we hit the canoe. It was killer when we had a radio with us. To think back now we never had a phone, we had a walkie talkie and if someone wanted us they knew where to find us. We were fishing, getting a tan and making the best out of the summer.

3. Vacations....one of my favorite vacations was when my grandparents took my brother and I to Duluth. Little did I know that grandpa would drive down the wrong way on a one way. And then 10 years later I moved to Duluth and drove down that same one way.

4. Cruising in the Delta 88.....I won't lie I did some stupid things in my first car, but man did I have fun. Hitting a mail box because I kept slamming on the breaks, or trying to get my car to go as fast as I could over the speed bumps, to getting pulled over in the used car lot because I was out after curfew. I honestly was looking for a car because I kept hitting the speed bumps and the car wasn't going to last much longer.

So as we finish up Hockey I hope my boys have made some awesome memories and ready for the next adventure ahead....spring, mud, and sunshine.
